So here's the idea in a few short words. Minecraft themed payload map for TF2. By this I mean to import Minecraft textures into the source engine (Work already done to this respect) and potentially making animated models of creatures to add to the background/non playable area. Now you may ask, "Don't people make minecraft maps all the time and they end up either too small or too big/ other proportional problems?" Yes they have but, I've been experimenting and have found that making each block 48x48x48 produces the proper size relative to the player.

So my question is this, does anyone who has played TF2 recently think that a properly done Minecraft map would be well received? I have a lot of free time coming up and am prepared to begin serious work on this but not if people will just reject it after being released.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts on this.

I'm a regular tf2 player and I would love to see something like this, I've seen a l4d2 minecraft map but yeah, the size aren't really in proportion. But then whether am I interested doesn't really matter, I guess its the people who own the servers that can add this map? Not really sure how it works but asking someone who owns a server I think would be more important

I'm actually in touch with someone who owns a server already but I wanted to get some player opinions before I continue.

I think a better question would be: why wouldn't you do a map like it? Whats holding you back?

I've always had lots of map ideas, and regardless of whether people would say they would play it or not, I would always make one.

This is true and was the first question I asked myself when I had the idea but unlike my previous endeavors I decided to try to get an outside incentive in order to help myself stick to the project and finish it.

Then there's the people who should have restrained. Resistance isn't futile if you map like shit. smiley

I say go for it. I mean. A good map is a good map. A MC themed map simply gives it a theme.

I still play both a lot of TF2 and MC so seeing crossovers is definitely up my alley!
